Mr. Patrick Lyons
Patrick Lyons was raised in Lynchburg, Virginia where he attended E.C. Glass High School. In 2002, Lyons moved to Dallas, Texas to attend Southern Methodist University. SMU presented a myriad of opportunities for learning and growth, both on campus and abroad. Lyons worked for campus administration, the Office for Community Involvement, and SMU’s Intramural and Recreational Sports Department. He also had the privilege of attending England’s prestigious Oxford University for two summer study-abroad programs. In 2006, Lyons graduated SMU with an Honors degree in Political Science. That fall, Lyons got his first work experience in the classroom, when he was hired at W.T. White High School. He followed his time at W.T. White with teaching opportunities at the Rivermont School (VA), as well as a 5-year stint at Dallas Can! Academy on Ross Avenue. Lyons joins the Law Magnet from Emmett J. Conrad High School where he was the Department Chair of Social Studies (AP United States History, US History). Lyons strives to educate and mentor young Dallas-area students for success in the classroom, on the playing field, and in life.
