The Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet prepares students for college and the workforce by giving them an opportunity to explore careers in government, law enforcement, and pre-law.
We fulfill this mission by providing our students with a range of experiential learning activities, including project-based learning in the classroom and courtroom observations, as well as meaningful internships that allow our students to experience the practice of law and law enforcement in a variety of settings.
The success of the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet can be measured in many ways, including Texas Education Agency exemplary ratings, high graduation rates, and students taking Advanced Placement courses. Most importantly, however, our students routinely find they have a range of options available to them after graduation. We give our students the tools they need to succeed in whatever career they choose.
Through an active PTSA, Advisory Board, Site-Based Decision-Making team, and parent and community booster organizations, the Law Magnet provides students with the opportunity to compete state-wide and nationally in debate and Skills USA. Through the generosity of our community partners, booster organizations, and the hard work of our parents and staff, our students also have the opportunity to interact with the Federal Government through the Close Up program.
